● The thorns of the black locust tree, Robinia pseudoacacia, are like nature’s barb wire or razor wire.
Planting a strategic property line of black locust would be strong enough to stop or strongly discourage someone from trespassing onto your property. You can use the branches to make weapons or hunting tools to provide your family with meat. Black locust trees are maintenance-free trees, meaning that the vast majority of all Preppers have the opportunity to grow this perimeter plant.

Description
● You will find multiple uses for your perimeter-protecting black locust. The mature height and spread is about 70 feet and they grow in a wide variety of locations because of their adaptability. In the spring you will love the white fragrant flowers that cover the black locust. The wood can be used for building because of its hardness and high resistance to rot, and, if resourceful enough, honey can be made from the tree’s sap. (You cannot reliably count on the black locust to produce honey every year, however.) Plant your property line with black locust spaced 15 feet apart and you will have a great protective fence that strongly encourages unwanted visitors to turn away. Black locust is easy to grow and an inexpensive solution for permanent property protection for Preppers in USDA zones 3 through 10.
