Alternative Views:
● White oak trees, Quercus alba, can be used in a variety of forms to help improve many common ailments. The bark and leaves of the white oak contain tannin, which can help to seal wounds and is antiseptic and antiviral.
The white oak bark can be made into a tea used to treat symptoms ranging from diarrhea, mucus discharge, sore throats (when gargled), and skin irritations (poison ivy, burns, etc.). Just be careful: the same medicinal tannin is harmful if ingested for a prolonged period of time.
